Frederick, Pendergraff win Providence Couples Scramble

WEBSTER COUNTY, KY - Scotty Frederick is 2-for-2 when it comes to winning golf tournaments at Providence Municipal Golf Course this year.

Earlier in the season the Providence resident teamed with three other gentlemen to win the Michelle Parker Memorial Tournament.

This past weekend Frederick and Megan Pendergraff of Madisonville were as hot as the weather, scoring the course with an incredible 32-under-par 112 to win the annual Couples Scramble held over the weekend. The Frederick-Pendgraff duo received plenty of competition on Saturday as Jeremy Shoulders and Stephanie Hardin blistered the course with a 17-under-par 55. Frederick and Pendergraff also fired a 55 on opening day to set-up a head-to-head battle on Sunday.

But Frederick and Pendergraff brought their "A game" to the course on Sunday and finished with a 15-under 57, including an Eagle 2 on the par 4 second hole, to outlast Shoulders and Hardin. They finished with a 62 on Sunday for a two-day total of 117. Wayne and Diana Adams finished third in the Championship Flight with a 121.

The tourney enjoyed another huge field with 43 couples participating. One highlight in the event was a hole-in-one by Marty Wright on the par 3, 15th hole on Sunday.

James and Kathy Burris were one shot better on Sunday than David Cook and Anna Gayle Gibson to win the First Flight, finishing with a 126. Al and Angela Starnes of Princton topped the Second Flight with a 131, including a strong 64 on Sunday. Ricky and Kathy Price of Clay were just two strokes back in third place.
